Who would have thought that Columbus, Ohio was so charming? (No offense to anyone from Columbus!). But honestly, you don’t really say “weekend getaway” and think of Ohio. Well the German Village area of Columbus, Ohio proved us wrong!
We stayed at the most unique Bed & Breakfast on a cobble stone street. The German Village Bed & Breakfast Whittier Suite Two had a large floor plan that surprised us. The kitchen was stocked with fresh chocolate chip cookies, homemade brewed ice tea, yogurt made locally and more! We felt right at home here, relaxing in this beautiful space. We understand why The German Village Bed & Breakfast is highly rated!
This bathroom was spacious to say the least and stocked with all the necessities – shampoo, conditioner, body wash, face wipes and robes. The bedroom had a beautiful bedroom set and decorated to the tee. The living room was great to hangout in while we were getting ready for a night out on High Street and a very comfortable pull out couch that accommodates two people.
The neighborhood is dated from the 1840s – 1890s and has that charm in a renovated way. The streets are cobble stone and the brick buildings give it a very rich feel. This neighborhood is quiet with plenty of unique restaurants all within walking distance, and perfect for a romantic getaway, business trip or a weekend with friends and is only 1 minute south of downtown Columbus.
We cannot recommend The German Village Bed & Breakfast enough and will most definitely be back on our next trip to Columbus, Ohio!
